About
Suzak District is one of the largest and most densely populated administrative regions in the Jalal-Abad Region. The primary pillars of the district's economy are agriculture, animal husbandry, and the mining industry. Crop farming is highly developed here, including the cultivation of grains, cotton, vegetables, and fruits. Animal husbandry focuses on cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. Additionally, the district hosts significant coal deposits, providing substantial resource potential.
History
• The territory became part of the Russian Empire in 1876 after the dissolution of the Khanate of Kokand. During the Soviet period, on November 21, 1940, the pre-existing Jalal-Abad District was officially renamed Suzak District, and its administrative center was moved to Suzak village. In 1959, the abolished Oktyabrsky District was merged into it, shaping the district's modern administrative boundaries.
